KIAS has joined the Global Youth Action Network (GYAN), whose “purpose is to leverage the collective power of young people to change the world.” We think that’s pretty great. The KIAS conference, “Tomorrow’s Ideas, Now,” is a forum for undergraduate students to showcase their research to their international peers – and we think that the leadership demonstrated through the process is inspiring. The students that are involved in TIN have a real opportunity to snowball their research into action, and to demonstrate to their fellow students that your voice can be heard.
Through GYAN, KIAS hopes to further the message of the conference and its work with undergraduate students. GYAN encourages partnerships, collaboration, and action – all things that are part and parcel of ground-breaking, interdisciplinary research. The University of Alberta is also a member of GYAN!
